Please describe the project specifications

We were asked to develop a mesh enclosure at the third-floor terrace for kid's outdoor activities at the Kipp Charter School in the Bronx. Using the steel frame with the addition of some steelwork, we fitted into a tight site by attaching a steel frame into the base building. We developed enough shape into the mesh stainless steel netting so that it becomes a tensile structure able to resist snow and wind loading. The mesh as seen in the images really disappears for the children and feels like an outdoor play space which in New York City is so important.
