Please describe the project specifications

We have designed a Solar Powered Integrated Structure (SPIS), referred to as Arc Kit, that functions as a disaster relief tent for the US Department of Defense. The SPIS tent is 18' W x 36’ L, and the roof is comprised of our unique, patented solar fabric. The inside of the SPIS tent features 648 sq/ft of usable space. The SPIS system can be easily transported in a fabric bag, and the full kit includes fabric tents, modular battery kits, AC and heating units, and water harvesting systems.

Our signature solar fabric technology uniquely integrates lightweight, flexible solar panels with durable fabric. A standard SPIS kit integrates a 7.6kW solar fabric roof with 24 kWh modular energy storage. This SPIS system was designed to be quickly set up with only a few men in any regional conditions. The project is engineered to function in temperatures ranging from -25° to 125° F, withstand winds up to 65 mph, and withstand up to 10 psf of ground snow load.

It is also envisioned to be used in emergency relief settings. It provides aid to members of communities that have been struck by disaster, be it political war zones or natural disasters. This concept originated from the need to solve logistical challenges faced by the US Air Force when trying to source sustainable shelter, water, and fuel to use in disaster and emergency relief settings. It aims to address the need for rapidly deployable shelter, power independent from the grid, safely sourced drinking water, and a desire to reduce harmful pollution caused by diesel generators in emergency settings such as disaster relief and refugee campsites.
