Please describe the project specifications

When our client came to us with his 2005 Sea Ray SunDeck 240, he wanted a full transformation, and we were ready to deliver. His vision included new snap-in flooring, EVA foam on the swim deck, snap-on cockpit and bow covers, a fully reskinned bimini top, and recovered seat bases. To top it off, he wanted a custom 12-foot shade sail over the bow for extra comfort and style.

We approached the project with our signature attention to detail, starting with the seat bases, which were meticulously recovered to match the overall aesthetic. We then patterned and installed a combination of snap-in flooring and EVA foam on the swim deck, blending durability with modern design. The bimini required a custom reskin, where we added a zipper at the front to seamlessly attach the new 12-foot shade sail. Finally, we crafted snap-on cockpit, and bow covers to perfectly complement the new bimini.

The end result was a stunning transformation that not only elevated the boat’s look but also added over 20 feet of shade—perfect for the customer’s needs. The client was thrilled with the update, and the boat is now a true reflection of custom craftsmanship meeting functionality.

What is unique or complex about the project?

It’s not often we get to combine six major custom upgrades on a single boat, but that’s exactly what we did with this 2005 Sea Ray SunDeck 240. The project included recovering the seats, reskinning the bimini top, crafting new snap-on cockpit and bow covers, adding snap-in flooring, installing EVA foam on the swim deck, and, for the first time, adding a custom 12-foot shade sail over the bow.

One of the most exciting aspects was incorporating the NEW 1" fiberglass shade sail poles, originally designed for smaller lake boats. This required detailed planning and precision, especially in determining how and where to drill into the boat for the new poles. Initially, we planned on using two poles, but due to the size of the 12-foot shade sail, we adjusted to four poles, ensuring maximum stability. We used WeatherMax 3D, a highly flexible and durable material, which allowed the shade to stretch beautifully over the bow.

The combination of these six custom jobs transformed the boat into something extraordinary. The client was so thrilled with the results that he sent us photos of the boat proudly displayed on the lake, enjoying his now 20+ feet of shade and sleek new design.
