Thirty-three (33) cantilevered columns align a walkway between two buildings at a semiconductor fabrication campus.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The client requested the design and construction of an employee walkway cover between two semiconductor manufacturing buildings.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The size and coordination of construction proved to be the most difficult aspects of this project. All cantilevered columns were fabricated, powder coated, and transported to the job site in one piece. Training specific to this semiconductor facility was required for all individuals performing work on site, which included proper procedures for safety and hazmat situations. Limited access to the site, along with a tight deadline, also proved challenging on this project.

What were the results of the project?

While the walkway was utilized before the shade structure was conducted, employees now move from building to building in more comfort and protection from the sun. This project has led to more future potential projects at this campus.
