Please describe the project specifications

Design a dodger with a different look, plenty of view and rigid .080 EZ2CY glass. Strong stainless steel frames with supports. Possible removal of windows for summer sailing while leaving the top for shade.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

My client requested a dodger that's design looked different than the normal dodger but would also be functional and easy to care for. Coverage for foul weather or just for hanging at the dock.

What is unique or complex about the project?

We designed a dodger that had the aspects of a California style dodger (with removable windows) and a Traditional style dodger with 3 windows. We added crown to the stanchions to match the curve of the side windows. Flat bags the shape of the windows are used when all the windows are removed for storage. Side grab bars will be added to support the top when all windows are out and of course for safety. Client added that he had no need for traveler openings in the window as he does not use this option.

What were the results of the project?

A dry companionway in high winds and rain and options for all weather. Customer liked the added vinyl trim which doubles as chafe and wear pads and adds to the new and different design.
