Please describe the project specifications

The client in this case wanted a full protective cover to transport his 360 deep impact from ocean city, md to Key West, fly without anything happening to the boat. No bugs, no asphalt tar, no water, no road debris, a boat in mint condition when it arrives in key west or returned to ocean city. First was the fabric, it cannot harm the hull. So the client picked sattler trio with its soft backing it is water proof & will not chafe the hull. But, outdura was use in the non-contact areas (form the bow rail to the hard top) because trio is not needed (and would add extra weight to the cover). The cover was also made into two parts so that the client could handle the weight and size of the cover. The engines where done separately so the cover would hug the hull for aerodynamics.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The purpose was to build a fuii cover to protect the boat in storage and traveling. It was made so the client could easily install and remove the cover.

What is unique or complex about the project?

He wanted the boat to remain in pristine condition in storage and traveling.
It was mandatory that the cover be user friendly. That the sections zipped with ease and the buckle straps tighten with ease and hold the cover at 80 mph down a highway. That the thread used (solar fix 4100 denier in black) would never fail in the seams. To make the straps user friendly we attached the two inch footman’s loops to the trailer so they could be inserted fast without having to throw a strap under the boat to tighten.

What were the results of the project?

The cover already has over 3000 road miles on it when the drone took these photos. The two inch buckles and straps perform well and the thread ptfe (polytetrafloroethylene) 4100 denier is the heaviest we have ever used. The sattler trio has performed well also no rubbing of any kind on the hull and the engine covers. Reese cropper III was so proud of his boat he commanded the piloting of the drone and the camera operation.
