Please describe the project specifications

This charity golf tournament consisted of a combination of golf chalets and tournament infrastructure tents, combined with a massive 30,000 sq. ft. entertainment venue for hosting a weeklong series of events and concerts that showcased cuisine from all over the world.

The golf chalets and infrastructure consisted of multiple 6M, 10M, 12M, and 15M Losberger structures, some open air and others enclosed. The entertainment venue consisted of a 40Mx60M Losberger clear span structure on 17-foot legs. 35 meters of the venue structure was enclosed with clear vinyl, while the remaining 25 meters were enclosed with white.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

This event was a weeklong charity fundraiser, consisting of a celebrity invitational golf tournament and a fundraising gala. The event’s primary purpose was to attract celebrity athletes and entertainers, as well as corporate and individual philanthropists, to gather at the resort-centered venue for a week of fun, entertainment, food, and ultimately giving back to the community.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The structure was installed on an active resort property, and on delicate golf course terrain. With limited direct access to the site, a fair amount of hand carrying was required to facilitate the installation, while working with the resort staff to minimize disruption of guest activities.

The structure was installed atop a 4-foot elevated floor using 17' legs, which created a host of challenges with regard to accessing the roof, and installing the tent liner and glass walls. Additionally, the venue's internal mezzanine system required a great deal of floor bracing/support.

Our team used an elevated, engineered flooring system to accommodate rough terrain, which had to be reinforced to support the weight of, not only the massive structure, but also the increased weight of the suspended graphics screen, staging, lighting, and sound equipment for the concerts, not to mention the second story mezzanine for VIP patrons.

What were the results of the project?

Once again, our highly-experience and safety-driven installation crews rose to the task of another unique tent installation. Our team made certain to tread lightly on the resort property, maintaining an immaculate job site, and treating the delicate golf course terrain with the utmost care.

The high-concept design challenges were readily met, providing the client and event guests with a temporary venue that exceeded all expectations. The sold-out fundraiser was a huge success.
