Please describe the project specifications

Our company designed, manufactured, and installed an exterior, motorized sun screen with a width of 150 inches and an overall height of 180 inches. The housing, side rails, and drop bar were all beige. The mesh was Mermet, Natte 4500-0225, White / Mustard. The mesh was "zippered" to allow the curtain to travel within the side rails. A Somfy, 510S2 Altus RTS motor was used as the drive. Somfy's Telis-1 handheld remote and the DecoFlex-1 in-wall remote were both included in the design of this solution.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

The client demanded immediate relief from several problems. She had finally had enough of the yearly costs to sand and re-stain her front doors that kept getting damaged by the sun's rays. The hardwood floors, in her front entry hall, also sustained UV damage. In addition, the UV caused extreme discomfort in the forms of bright glare and intense heat. She also requested an in-wall, wireless remote as well as a backup, handheld remote.

What is unique or complex about the project?

Creating a solution that blended in with the estate-like architecture as well as matching the color scheme was very important to the client.

What were the results of the project?

Pure joy! Our solution provided immediate comfort from the devastating effects of the sun and shielded the front door and hardwood floors from further damage.
