Please describe the project specifications
Our client was impressed with other work we had done at his yacht club and wanted to refresh the look of his boat with clean white vinyl and diamonds. We approached him with the idea of adding blue accents to make the seating pop and tie in better with the blue canvas on his boat. The combination of the smooth Seabrook Chalk, accented with diamonds, with the textured Spradling Beluga resulted in a beautiful blend of color and texture. The diamonds are done in our signature style, where we ensure that the tops of the diamonds all intersect the seam at the pulldown. This is challenging to get right because the process requires skewing the diamond shape as it wraps through the curves without visibly deforming the diamond itself. Other shops will allow the diamonds to run off or inset them as panels, but we like the appearance of the full diamonds through the curves and feel that it is worth the additional effort to get it right. The boat is kept at the end of a long dock, and it was exciting carrying all of the pieces to the boat with other people seeing the work and complimenting it as we passed by. The client was blown away by the result and we are very proud of the finished look as well.
