Please describe the project specifications

The customer was looking for a fresh modern look to the exterior upholstery on his recently purchased boat. We choose Sunbrella' s new Horizon Textil in a white and cadet grey combination and added our 2 x 2 double diamond quilted panels to accomplish what he desired. The aft settee, flybridge settee, bow area and helm chairs were all completed in this new modern color pallet. The aft and flybridge settees were very short in depth but we were looking to increase the luxury look. To gain a better luxury look on the flybridge settee we wrapped the backrest cushions up and over the back edge so that the 2" depth looked thicker by extending them up and aft. We put all the base cushions on a two level plastic base so that we could extend the seats deeper by getting them up and over a fiddle that had made then too short for comfort. In the aft settee area we added a drop to these seats so that we could provide and extended knee roll to gain 4 more inches of seating comfort. the bow area shows the challenges of unlevel surfaces and dimension limitations we had to deal with. The custom wanted a full sunbed setup on an area that was not designed for cushions. To keep with the rest of the designed pallet we were challenged to create and area which in his words has now become the best seat in the house. We designed adjustable lift up backrests, two entertainment caddy's for drinks and storage and managed to perfect the line up of our in house quilted panels to give a comfortable elegant look to this new entertainment area on the boat.

What is unique or complex about the project?

This whole job had challenges that we were able to fabricate and design around to give him what he was looking for at the same time actually exceeding his expectations. Between the challenges of growing depth in the seating to, matching the quilting patterns in the bow area we made this customer extremely happy with the results.
