Please describe the project specifications
This project is composed of seven (7) bright yellow shade sails that cover an entry courtyard. They are connected to one shared column in the middle and custom wall brackets around the perimeter. Unique architectural lighting is integrated with the center column.
These shade sails are featured at a new commercial shopping complex and were designed to draw visual interest to one of the entrances of the shopping center.
What is unique or complex about the project?
This project encompasses quite a few local and cultural references. The shade sails provide both a visual attraction, as well as functional shade, to a courtyard dedicated to the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community. Replicated Native American tribal art is featured on the curved block walls. Unique light poles represent the Ocotillo, a native plant to Arizona. Bright yellow shade sails represent the color of the Sonoran Desert when the native plants are in bloom.
The GC and owner were extremely pleased with the installation of this modern and unique entry to this multi-use commercial plaza.
