Please describe the project specifications

TERRASHADE emerged during the pandemic as a response to our customers' growing need for more affordable shade solutions. Drawing on two decades of experience installing code-compliant shade structures, we recognized the demand for a product that offered both portability and premium quality, while also being highly wind-resistant. We began work on this in April 2020. Our US patent issued on 3/19/24, and our Australian patent issued last week.

In March 2024, an event coordinator approached us with a specific request. Can we install our brand TERRASHADE tent with weighted corner ballasts? We answered with a resounding "Yes," and six weeks later, we unveiled the first-of-its-kind "signature ballast" event tent.

The frame comes in three size profiles: 16'x20' for our Cafe' model, 20'x20', or 28'x28'. The frame and sail are a symbiotic unit creating a square or octagonal shade footprint. The side walls can be adjusted vertically to align with flat surfaces, flared out for additional shade, or a combination of the 2 positions. Additionally, our unique semi-transparent divider panels, which hang from the metal crossmembers, allow for privacy by dividing the tent into two or four quadrants. When the 12' corner posts are oriented North/South, the East/West side walls shade from that early evening sun that always seems to slip under. For venues where that orientation isn't possible, we've have developed transparent sun visors.

Bob and I envision TERRASHADE as an elegant addition to the event tent industry. Event possibilities range from small restaurants, local wineries, residential backyards, and even outdoor kitchens. We eagerly anticipate the summer of 2024 and the opportunities it will bring as TERRASHADE joins the event tent community.
