Please describe the project specifications

Having previously worked with SailGP over ten years, we were approached to design and manufacture a Mobile Lite Container Canopy for use by the international yacht racing teams. The brief required a lightweight, rapidly deployable canopy system that would provide a practical meeting and workspace area over the team office container.
The initial contract was awarded just before Christmas 2025, but there was a technical step in the approval process where we only had two weeks to produce a fully functioning sample before final approval was granted to proceed with the remaining twelve canopies. Once approved, we manufactured the remaining 12 of 13 complete canopy systems, each designed with pre-assembled components to allow installation in 45 minutes.
To meet Health & Safety requirements of international site venues, all canopies had to be completely assembled at ground level so we engineered a lifting system capable of raising the entire tent, complete with fabric, onto the office containers. Each tent was individually branded and printed with team imagery, sponsors etc onto tensioned front wall banners. To ensure the canopies could be unloaded and assembled quickly we designed and manufactured 13 specialised roller stillages to store and transport the pre-assembled components efficiently between international locations.
The entire project was completed inside 8 weeks with several of the team bases being shipped to different destinations across the globe to meet the next event dates.

What is unique or complex about the project?

This project was driven by the challenge of creating a high-performance mobile structure for a world-class sporting organisation operating on an international schedule. The demanding timeframes and logistical requirements pushed both design and manufacturing capabilities to their limits.
What made this project unique was the combination of rapid deployment, transport efficiency, and integrated Health & Safety solutions. Designing a fully pre-assembled system that could be installed in 45 minutes, while also being durable enough for global travel, required a highly innovative and coordinated approach.
