The client was looking for a shade solution that would grant a break from the scorching California sun while they lounge in their outdoor space, enjoy a meal, or entertain guests. The homeowner had already installed a louvred roof to control airflow and light from above, and they now wanted a way to block out heat and glare coming in through the viewing area of their balcony. The resulting project—3 screens using Twitchell’s Nano 97 line—delivered both sun relief and an exquisite enhancement to an already gorgeous home. Spanning from 9 ft. x 8 ft., 12 ft. x 8 ft., to 17 ft. x 8 ft., the screens collectively measured an impressive 38 ft. x 8 ft. —making them a perfect addition to this grand house.

In a home as stunning as this one, whatever we made needed to match the high-end, modern style appreciated by the homeowners. Our sleek, seamless design with hidden wiring was the perfect addition, providing the necessary benefits without being a bulky eyesore. The screen system also had to enhance the benefits of the louvred roof without detracting from the design or functionality. With an attractive design and expert installation, we delivered a premium solution to the client’s concerns, allowing them to enjoy their outdoor space completely worry-free.
