Please describe the project specifications
The architect designed this area, which bridges two office buildings, to create a communal outdoor work/play space. The canopy was designed to have varying levels of density of the fabric creating shade as well as casting playful shadows on the ground. Material used provides proper blockage of sunlight and the more open (14%) density of one of the materials allows for proper drainage of water.
What is unique or complex about the project?
We were thrilled to have been part of this beautiful and technical project providing design, engineering, manufacturing and installation. Ten 13-foot high posts line the length of the space, five on each side to which the large tension shades were attached. The four large fabric panels are expertly tensioned to lie perfectly flat. Material was RF welded using 4% and 14% open; the 14% open mesh allows for proper drainage of water.
