Please describe the project specifications

Nippon Gas Dream hub is the world's largest liquefied petroleum filling base center which be built to integrate the latest ICT and IOT technologies. The project also realized the world’s first completely unmanned operation by digital transformation loading and pressure resistance inspection. Another advantage of Nippon Gas Dream hub is located within 10 km (About 5 minutes by car one way) from Kawasaki harbor which is the three major energy import bases. The source of design inspiration of PTFE canopy come from whale. Total 8,100sqm of cover area be divided into two canopies. The big one (5,000sqm) made into whale’s head and body, the small one (3,100sqm) made into whale’ tail. The project is close to sea, see from the airplane, it’s looks like whale diving into the sea.

What is unique or complex about the project?

As LP hub center, obviously the structure has to be designed wide, clean and simply enough for all this traffic. PTFE membrane roof is the best solution to satisfy lighter, more energy-saving and requires less structural steel to support while ensure safety and security. The wide opening PTFE space provides more bright and airy ambiance. The client is quite satisfied with the products we supplied.
