Please describe the project specifications
The client wanted to reinvigorate their business by enhancing a renewed outdoor space. They were looking to create a flow between indoors and outdoors for special events. Finally, they wanted to cover the renovated patio space while showcasing the nearby 6-story castle designed by Henry Mercer.
Rainier Tent came in with a custom-engineered tent structure that would accommodate the unique installation area and designed the tops to be half clear to showcase the view and half white for sun protection.
What is unique or complex about the project?
The asymetrical engineering of this tent is what really makes it stand out. The design and the direction of the fabric (length-wise vs. width) is also a special feature. The baseplates for most of the legs capture a perimeter wall, maximizing the usable space while securing the tent. The tent follows the lines of the building/museum, including the lower landing by using extended uprights.
