Please describe the project specifications

During recent sever weather events the clients’ old umbrellas ended up badly damaged and one even ended up in their pool!!! They requested that we remove the umbrellas and create a suitable weather proof awning to protect their clients when entering and existing the building and to also provide some shade to the area. The awning structure needed to be engineered to cyclonic conditions, be marine grade weather proof as its right on the beach and been 100% sealed and water proof against the building.

What is unique or complex about the project?

This was a great project to be involved with as the client let us design the structure 100%. We had our surveyors create a 3D model of the area including the pool locations doors etc. and we proposed a structure that was immediately approved by the client and the body corporate. The rear beam acts as the sail support and a guttering system and is completely sealed to the building allowing for clients to move in and out of the building whilst staying dry.

All the steel and fittings have been engineered to the harshest of conditions and designed to stand the test of time.

The edge cables were custom made and adds to the structures beachy/holiday feel.
