This shade structure at Mansel Carter Oasis Park in Queen Creek, Arizona, involved the construction of multiple framed structures to enhance the usability and comfort of the park's sports court amenities. The client sought to create a shaded waiting and preparation area specifically designed for tennis and pickleball players, aiming to improve their overall experience and encourage more community participation. The structure, supported by 20 columns and featuring an upper framework that holds 11 tensioned shade sails, addresses the need for protection from the harsh Arizona sun.

Throughout the project, several challenges were encountered, including the need to ensure structural stability while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing design. Additionally, it was crucial to select materials that were both durable and environmentally friendly. By leveraging advanced engineering techniques and eco-conscious materials, the team successfully delivered a robust, visually appealing shade structure. The outcome not only meets the client's goals but also minimizes environmental impact, providing a shaded, welcoming space that promotes outdoor activity and community engagement while respecting the local ecosystem.
