Please describe the project specifications

We’ve worked with the owner of a local dry cleaner chain in the Twin Cities area for decades. Our point of contact would always come to us to print their proprietary pattern on printable Sunbrella fabric for their interior and exterior storefront awnings in malls, grocery stores and standalone stores. When our customer left the dry cleaning industry and decided to open a restaurant in the middle of a pandemic, he trusted us with printing, fabricating and installing an exterior storefront awning to introduce his brand – a pizza shop, Love Pizza – to our community. It’s the first thing his potential customers see when driving by or walking down the block, and it was an honor to tackle this for him and his team.

The new owner of Love Pizza worked with a graphic designer to create a proprietary graphic pattern for the awning and other brand materials. Then, they passed the pattern on to us. At that time, the new PrintCraft technology from Trivantage had recently launched. We were thrilled to work with PrintCraft because the team “spoke awning,” as opposed to the commercial printing shops we were used to, in which it was always a cumbersome task. Printing a pattern with custom awning specs takes patience and vetting, and it made our lives as a fabricator easier and helped us deliver for Love Pizza to work with PrintCraft as our single source. Once printed, we easily fabricated and installed the awning. The result was a 10/10 pop of color and pattern, and our customer’s pizza shop is killing it.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The custom printing aspect of this project makes it stand out from others we do. We railroaded the fabric to best align with the graphic pattern and make sure the look was perfect. Our long-time customer was really pleased and loved the way it turned out to help him launch a new business.
