This project involved the complete design and fabrication of a custom cockpit enclosure for a Gulfstar 54. The client requested an enclosure that provided full weather protection while maintaining optimal visibility and access to deck equipment. The result seamlessly blends functionality, durability, and style perfectly complementing the yacht's classic lines.

The enclosure features precision-fitted panels crafted from Sunbrella® marine-grade fabric, paired with .060 Polycarbonate for crystal-clear visibility. Each panel was templated on-site with the Prodim Proliner for a perfect fit. A key challenge was aligning the enclosure with existing rigging and hardware while maintaining a clean, tensioned appearance. An additional challenge was designing the hinged panels to ensure they would not interfere with each other while they were tied back. Modernizing the design while maintaining the traditional aesthetic was key. The client now enjoys a completely weather-protected helm area, extending the vessel's usable season and comfort. The design enhances both functionality and aesthetics, earning praise from neighboring boaters and marina staff. This custom enclosure was a balance between craftsmanship and creativity and the result enhances the vessel's comfort and weather protection.
