Please describe the project specifications
2,580 m2 of Serge Ferrari Flexilight 902 S2 membrane in white was installed covering the stands of the Beach Soccer Stadium, in San Salvador. Composed of 12 arc-shaped cannons distributed in two sections and 902 m2 of Mesh Frontside View 381-3117 spring green color membrane installed for the stadium´s facade, this project was designed as one of the sport venues to host for the 2023 PanAmerican and Caribbean Games held in the City of San Salvador.
This stadium helds all natural beach sand and its construction was completed within a remarkably brief timeframe. The project timeline was unexpectedly short, as El Salvador volunteered to host the games in response to Panama's withdrawal because of pandemic-related issues. As a result, labor for the project was provided by prisoners from the jails of San Salvador. Due to the tight deadline and labor shortage, the President of the country offered inmates the opportunity to reduce their sentences by working hand by hand with us on the project, a unique experience for our team and we are guessig for them too.
Achieving a fresh space with ample natural lighting was a primary objective of the project, which was successfully accomplished through the materials installed on the roof and facade of the stadium. This design choice not only provided aesthetic appeal but also contributed to creating an inviting environment for visitors and participants alike. The project was deliverd on time ensuring the stadium was ready for the games. Today, the stadium continues to host beach soccer matches, serving as a prominent sports venue in San Salvador.
