Please describe the project specifications
Our client had recently poured a new concrete pad right outside of their shed, and quickly realised that in the summer time it would be far too hot, and have too much glare for the guys to work. We were tasked with finding a flexible solution for this very large area, that would fit their budget and be incredibly wind resistant in their high wind zone region. The shade sail was chosen for its excellent UV protection, which was the main request for the client.
What is unique or complex about the project?
With this client, we had a lot of difficulty finding solid fixing points due to the construction of the shed.
Since the concrete was new, and very costly - understandably the clients were unwilling to place poles along the front of the shed. We were able to fix timber to the other side of the shed, and drill our diamond brackets through. Instead of installing an additional two poles, which would be right in the walk ways, we were able to utilize their existing shipping containers (used as workshops) as very solid fixing points along with our poles.
Installing poles also was difficult due to the incredibly solid ground, however the hydro vac made quick work of this.
