Please describe the project specifications

This project was installed in what could be considered one of the most beautiful, scenic locations in the world – Oil Nut Bay located in Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). The client was referred to our company from another project we completed at a restaurant in the BVI. We used 6063 aluminum and 316 stainless steel marine grade components for this project as we do on all retractable pergolas…..being in the Caribbean it was especially important to prevent corrosion issues. The purpose of the retractable pergola was to provide shade, sun, UV, and glare protection at the marina for members, guests, and staff. Here is the customer comment received via email post-installation: “It's working great for us as and we love the quality of the product!”

What is unique or complex about the project?

Our goal was to provide shade to customers from the hot Caribbean sun and most importantly provide skin protection from UV rays. The location is what sets this project apart as the British Virgin Islands are simply splendid. The pictures tell the story! As you can see, picture #2 of the entire marina was taken prior to the retractable pergola installation as the client was using umbrellas that kept falling over from even the slightest wind.
