Please describe the project specifications

An architect from Baltimore, Maryland, in business for many years as an architect, requested a manually operated, free-standing, waterproof, retractable pergola structure for the rear patio of his vacation home in Vero Beach, Florida. The architect provided some 3D renderings of what he was looking for and we had the perfect product to meet his needs. Normally, most pergolas have the posts or columns on the corners of the pergola. His unique design included posts inset from the ends of the pergola. One of the models in our range of pergolas can do just that! In addition, the architect wanted the fabric to be roman folded when fully extended so rainwater could fall off the sides of the fabric into the flower beds. As you can see from the pictures this model accomplishes that goal.

What is unique or complex about the project?

We entered the competition to show that it is possible to have a retractable pergola roof system with posts inset from the ends something unusual in the retractable part of the awning/pergola industry. We believe this feature sets this project apart from others completed by the company in the past year. The architect loves the appearance and functionality and will be using this product for 2 of his clients.
