Please describe the project specifications

Entire structure is a ring-shaped single-layer overlapping lattice shell, which is divided into 24 individual lattice shells. Precise fabrication of each shell steel frame as well as membrane is the main difficulty which will dramatically change on the final image of ceiling and installation program. In order to effectively reduce the impact of errors, total station is adopted for tracking over whole installation


What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Wanda cultural tourism city was built as a landmark of city and unique design of the roof part will be a highlight of entire structure. Dome ceiling of building decorates with color printed membrane will enable a lotus flower image and makes the lobby looks more beautiful. Our commitment is to achieve on architectural expectation of entire structure as much as possible with membrane material instead of traditional building materials.


What is unique or complex about the project?

Each panel with its own special printing pattern which required accurate design and fabrication with both steel and membrane. It is allowed for minimal tolerances to achieve architect’s original purpose of entire structure.


What were the results of the project?

The client was extremely pleased with end result, and the performance of the crew and management on site. The project was completed with a perfect safety record.
