Please describe the project specifications

Briefly, this project is a stationary awning composed of a welded structure with 2 retractable sections.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Under specific requirements from our client, the main purpose of this project was to protect people from the sun when they were seated, by adding a stationary awning. However, he also liked the idea of having a retractable awning so he could open or close the awning when needed. In that case, due to the size of the terrace, we created a stationary awning with two retractable sections inside it so he could have the best of both worlds!

What is unique or complex about the project?

This project was complex in many ways. The shape and size of this terrace are two characteristics that made this project a challenge for us. With 242 yards of fabric, made in only 1 section, we were able to create a large 5' high X 105' wide X 17' projection awning, following the round shape of the terrace on the left side and allowing 2 open areas closer to the right side. These 2 open spaces were made to receive 2 motorized retractable awnings of 20' wide X 11'6'' projection each. Finally, with having those two retractable awning in the middle, we had to make sure no rain would go through when they were deployed.

What were the results of the project?

The result of this project was exactly what our customer wanted. He can now fill his terrace from April to November every year.
