Please describe the project specifications
The Barn is constructed of a heavy duty M2 Aluminum Frame and Red, Brown, and White Sunburst Vinyl Top. It is both 100% waterproof and UV protected and is also flame retardant and mildew resistant.
What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?
The client requested a shade structure to cover a seating area attached to a restaurant in their theme park. The challenge was that they wanted their structure themed to the surrounding environment around the restaurant which happened to be a country / farm theme. They needed a structure that was durable and added protection from sun and weather for their guests. In addition they wanted it large enough to fit adequate seating underneath and proposed that it be tall enough to install fans and lights under as well.
What is unique or complex about the project?
This project was unique in that the barn theme itself presented challenges in the way the frame was constructed. The frame was custom built to fit the size of the area while still maintaining the look and shape of a barn. The vinyl top was also uniquely constructed in that it was designed to look like a barn and pieced together in sections to extend the full length and width of the structure itself.
What were the results of the project?
Patrons of the theme park are now thrilled and grateful that there is now a shaded structure in that location to protected them from sun exposure and weather while they enjoy time and meals with family and friends. The park owners are extremely satisfied that the structure fit the theme and delighted that it also serves as unintentional advertisement for the restaurant as guests are drawn to the structure from a distance.
