What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Johnson Memorial Hospital awarded Keystone Construction with the development of a new medical office building, primary care and medical space located in Greenwood, Indiana. Keystone approached Eide Industries to assist with the design-build of a tension structure to enhance the main entrance with the goal of providing an uplifting first impression for all visitors.


What is unique or complex about the project?

As the steel frame changes elevations around the perimeter, it allows the Serge Ferrari Precontraint TX30 Fabric to find equilibrium in an anticlastic shape, providing a three dimensional shape that dynamically changes depending on your point of view.


What were the results of the project?

The inspiring and iconic Tensioned Fabric Structure was successfully designed and engineered for 115 MPH wind-loads and 20 PSF snow-loads, while utilizing lightweight fabric to provide a soft translucency to the whole structure.
