Please describe the project specifications
The customer was having a custom horse truck built and wanted us to provide a modern clean look for the upholstery seating to fit the vehicle and their preferences.
We were tasked with fabricating the crawl through, custom squabs for all the seating areas and the folding bunk bed.
Due to the constraints of the timeline for completion, we were required to do most of the work off site adding another dimension to the project.
What is unique or complex about the project?
Along with some challenges navigating the different family members’ wishes, this project was unique due to its custom build and design that we were working around.
Along with careful design requiring templating, we were working mostly off site which was a challenge at times. The customer was exacting and timelines were restricting.
The crawl through had to be designed with no body modifications to the cab to fit certification standards limiting the ability to customise fixings on the cab side.
This required templating and innovation to make it both workable and attractive.
Along with this, there were variations to the contract and design which required reconfiguring the layout and sizing of the squabs and bunk bed.
A challenging single piece corner with mitre squab added another challenge.
The truck manufacturer as well as the customer were thrilled with the finished product and featured it in a magazine article.
