Please describe the project specifications

This client came to us through the referral of a previous customer. Our clients own a 2001 Caliber XLR sailboat. They were having some other work done on their boat and had a limited amount of time to get it all finished before leaving the area for the holiday.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

They were having an air conditioning unit installed under their 'L' shaped couch, but there would be no access the unit. At first our clients told us they just wanted a quick fix to their access problem. (Cut, Staple, and Go) After some conversation they admitted their old upholstery was too faded and worn. They decided to have both the straight and 'L' couches recovered in Integrated Indigo by Sunbrella.

What is unique or complex about the project?

Before the installation of the AC unit could happen, we had to draw up a plan for the redesign of their corner cushion and backrest. We cut the corner backrest board in half and redesigned the corner cushion for easier removal. Then came the interesting task of matching up all those little diamonds, both horizontally and vertically all the way around the bend of the corner backrests. (Yep, took us a while to recover from that.)
