Please describe the project specifications

What we refer to as a "Hybrid", this cover was designed and fabricated to be used as both a travel cover, as well as a standard Bow and Cockpit cover set. We pocketed the front pickle forks, installed turn-snap fasteners in the bow edge of the cover, Scoville Dot snaps down the sides and in the rear, and sealed the bow plane of the cover with Xtreme Seal to ensure a water and wind resistant fit while trailering.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Our customer wanted a cover that he could not only safely trailer with, but one that could serve as an "on-the-water" cover as well. Designing the cover with the pocketed fronts and hardware mounted closer to the bow and upper deck area, he was able to easily slip the front of the cover on and attach the snaps and turn-snaps from inside OR outside the boat.

What is unique or complex about the project?

What made this project unique was the layout/ type of boat and the intended use desired by the customer. It is always a challenge to design the end product and work backwards in executing it. Aesthetics also played a large part in making this project unique. We matched the line of Scoville snap studs being installed in the boat with the body lines to make it visually flow, along with allowing accessibility in installing the cover from inside the boat. We also wanted the front pockets to be as aesthetically pleasing as they were functional, so we custom templated a total of 7 separate panels to match the planes of the boat, reinforced them all, allowing for a durable, tight fit.

What were the results of the project?

Our customer was, and has been very happy with the end-product. He has returned for multiple other projects and I am confident that this cover will serve him for many years to come.
