Please describe the project specifications
The purpose of this project was to build a unique and strike home for Super Bowl live week during Super Bowl Liv at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
What is unique or complex about the project?
The structures engineered and manufactured for Super Bow LIV were very custom in nature. The main structure was a tri-directional monosloping structure that seamlessly integrated into each wing. A substantial amount of ballasting was required to support the uplift along the perimeter, and in particular the primary columns. This type of structural configuration not only requires a substantial amount of design and engineering work to build the frame, but also creates a significant challenge for roof cladding and water containment.
Custom fabric panels were designed and manufactured to not only fit into the custom transitional bays, but to also allow for secondary tension mechanisms that provide greater resistance to rain. In-House printed panels were also utilized to meet the client's banding goals.
This project proved extremely challenging to manufacture and install, but we were able to not only meet, but exceed our client's goals.
