Tensioned membrane structure to cover a walkway between 2 buildings


What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Client had a design in mind, very industrial, heavy steel but still be able to give a feeling of lightness, structure to cantilever over the existing buildings creating a waterproof walk way between them.


What is unique or complex about the project?

The attention to detail that was required in this project was one of the highest we have ever worked on. the client and architect were very specific in the look of the finished product. the tensioned cable edge cantilevers over the existing buildings making installation very difficult (also, installation was occurring during the civil works in the same area). There were 6 of these structures completed, some were slightly different in size, however each one had the exact same finish and panel widths through to the middle, allowing for all to look very similar.


What were the results of the project?

Clients were extremely satisfied with the finished product and we have continued our relationship with the building and architect
