Please describe the project specifications

This is a motorized Slide on Wire retractable shade system using all marine grade stainless steel tension hardware, marine grade pulley's and high strength low stretch sailing line to move the shades.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

This is to shade the patio located in front of the executive offices for entertaining and comfort control.

What is unique or complex about the project?

The steel structure needed to be welded below grade requiring the entire deck to be removed. To minimize the diameter of the columns we used a back brace supported design.

What were the results of the project?

The shades open in about 1 1/2 minutes and shades the entire space.
