What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Fairmont Water Works is a historical location that serves as a premier environmental education destination in Philadelphia . As a historical landmark, it was important to Fairmont Water Works that Fred Tents design tents that would blend harmoniously with the existing buildings and pavilions. In the past they utilized standard frame tents, and they were looking for something that would keep with the historical importance of the location. They requested additional event space on each side of the main pavilion, a marquee to create a grand entrance/walkway, and a caterer's tent to increase space for food services.

What is unique or complex about the project?

Fairmont Water Works was very clear that the fabric was to blend with the existing structures, to help preserve the historical value. In addition, the uprights on the Lean To's were to coincide with the location of the columns for the main pavilion. As a historical site, it was of utmost importance that the tents would not interfere with the existing structures.

What were the results of the project?

The design and manufacturing by Fred's Tents, and the installation by L & A Tents exceeded the customers expectations. The additional space that the Lean To's provided, along with the impressive entrance, and cooks tent was exactly what they wanted. The 524 Eggshell Patio 500 was a perfect blend to the color of the historical buildings.
