Please describe the project specifications

To design and construct an 80 x 40 m double bowling green canopy, utilising PVC fabric supported by a painted steel structure, to include LED Lighting

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Club Sapphire required a Bowling Green Shade Cover, that would protect their Bowling Greens from the elements, with the addition of LED Lighting to further extend greens usage time. The client requested that we design and deliver one structure that covered both sporting greens.

What is unique or complex about the project?

A single canopy structure that spans two bowling greens
Footings founded into sandstone substrate, this requires substantial engineering consideration
Club Sapphire is situated in Merimbula, on the Sapphire Coast in NSW.
Due to the remote location of the club, sourcing of plant and equipment , trades and materials required a high level of project management to ensure the success of the installation.
The management of multiple trades and the build of the single custom fabric structure, fully engineered and fabricated by our team

What were the results of the project?

Club Sapphire in Merimbula has welcomed a state of the art bowling green facility, this fabric structure as increased the clubs ability to utilise the greens and has firmly placed them in the public spotlight as a world class facility for their sport. The club members have embraced the latest addition with opportunity to compete in day and night activities under the bowls green cover.
