Please describe the project specifications

Contemporary industrial looking trussed circular shade structure. The canopy is comprised of custom trussed legs supporting the upper circular truss. The shade screen is laced to a separate circular bar which is welded above the truss.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Provide artistic modern shade over a circular outdoor patio space. As a builder of sports arenas, our client was specific about the unique appearance and effectiveness of the shade.

What is unique or complex about the project?

Build a symmetrical circular structure over a space that was not symmetrical. This created an illusion of symmetry that our client desired. The columns had to be offset to accommodate the non-symmetrical lower wall. Three dimensional (3D) custom trussed columns required many hours of precision cutting and welding. The upper truss was designed in two halves for transportation to the job site.

What were the results of the project?

The client was very happy with the outcome because the canopy provided much needed shade from the harsh Arizona sun. The structures industrial appearance achieved the look that the client desired.
