Please describe the project specifications

Had the opportunity to collaborate with Chris at Performance Sound here in salt lake to add LED lighting to our FCTv3 bimini top.

What was the purpose of this project? What did the client request?

Wanted to add extra cockpit lighting for late nights on beautiful Lake Powell. A lot of people are adding lighting to their boats so they can keep surfing after the sun has gone down but the interior lighting has just not be sufficient.

What is unique or complex about the project?

To my knowledge no one has added lighting to a bimin this way. We brain stormed with Chirs from PS and used good water proof LED strip that was wired into the boat and easily controlled by the captain on the dash. We had to hide all of the wiring in our bimini hardware as well as in our top. We needed our tops functionality to remain the same and keep ugly wires out of site. To hold the LED strips in place we used 1" wide strip of Crystal Clear that was sewn to our pocket and then fished the strip in. Because Chris was able to tie all of the lighting together you can choose between alternating colors or a solid white that will match all of the other lights in the boat.

What were the results of the project?

An awesome display of lighting with a very clean look. The boat owner told me it helps light up the lake when they just want to float around and have a night swim session and no one is tripling on things in the boat at night now.
